~ Weddings at Eddington ~
Weddings for non-members at Eddington are limited - for two reasons. First, we have a Contemporary Worship service at 9:00 on Sunday morning, and the set-up and practice for that service often takes place on Friday evening. When that happens, the Sanctuary is then set up for that service all day Saturday with instruments and equipment.
The second reason we don't do too many non-member weddings is that we believe a couple’s life together in a congregation is very important, and a Church should not merely be a "location" to hold a ceremony. So if you would like us to consider hosting your wedding, we would like to have you first visit our church and come to our worship services. We would be glad to greet you and make you feel welcome.
We have two worship services at Eddington. In addition to the Contemporary service at 9:00, we also have a Traditional service at 11:00, led by our Pastor, George Brecht. If after visiting our church you would still like us to consider hosting your wedding, you may call the church office at 215-639-5347 or better still, email us at eddingtonpresbyterian@verizon.net Before contacting us, please read the following rules for Weddings at Eddington:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- The cost for weddings at Eddington is $1,100. This includes fees for the church building, the minister, the organist, and our secretary and custodial services. A non-refundable deposit is required to hold your wedding date. The balance is due 14 days before the ceremony.
- No weddings will begin after 2:00 on Saturdays, so that Eddington's Contemporary Worship Team has time to prepare for the Sunday morning service.
- A meeting with our Pastor is required with the couple before a reservation can be made for any wedding. Please check with the Church office first, though, to see if your desired date is available, and to arrange for this meeting.
- After meeting with the Pastor, a Wedding Agreement may be submitted along with the deposit, and the wedding date will then be held. At that Meeting, the Pastor will also schedule several pre-marital counseling meetings with the couple. These meetings must take place before the wedding.
- A valid Bucks County marriage license must be submitted to the Pastor for processing before the ceremony. (Bringing the license to the rehersal is fine.)
